Assistant Headteacher

This is an exciting time to work at Holly Lodge. Our Headteacher and leadership team lead a settled, happy and experienced staff towards the next phase of our history. We are the only non-denominational girls’ school in Liverpool and we are happy to serve students from all communities across the whole city. We are proud of our school -its long history of academic and pastoral success, our commitment to offering a dynamic curriculum enhanced by high quality teaching and supported by an ethos of wraparound care.

The Governors wish to seek and appoint an outstanding and committed Assistant Headteacher [Behaviour and Inclusion] with the vision and expertise to work as part of a Leadership Team that embodies our mission statement – “Expect to Achieve”.

We are seeking a leader with energy, enthusiasm and character to enthuse staff and students through the next stages of the school’s development. The successful candidate will lead, manage and develop the excellent pastoral work of the school and we aim to appoint a colleague who will involve themselves whole-heartedly across our school community to ensure the wellbeing of pupils.

The desired candidate will

  • be part of a leadership team who are committed to providing every opportunity for our students to succeed.
  • have excellent behaviour management practice and experience of sharing and embedding this, together with an evidenced commitment to inclusion.
  • lead and manage our skilled and supportive pastoral team.
  • be enthusiastic and passionate about teaching and learning, with the vision, commitment and determination to continue raising standards across all levels and abilities and further contribute to the progress of our students.
  • focus on high quality teaching and ensure that all pupils fulfil their potential.
  • teach an appropriate timetable across the ability range at KS3, and KS4, delivering innovative and motivational lessons, and securing high quality outcomes for all students.
  • inspire and challenge students to enable them to develop into highly effective, independent learners and achieve their potential as individuals.
