We are delighted to announce that two of our Year 11 students have secured full scholarships for board and teaching fees in the sixth forms of two of the most prestigious public schools in the country.
Molly McHugh-Iddon has been offered her scholarship at Marlborough College in Wiltshire whilst Sali Delba has been offered hers at Fettes School in Edinburgh. Both students have successfully navigated a series of rigorous assessments including interviews, aptitude tests and visits to their prospective schools – all at the same time as they have been working towards their GCSE exams. The photos below show Marlborough College on the left and Fettes on the right.
The girls were guided through the process by staff in school in partnership with the Hope Opportunity Trust, a Northwest charity which works to secure public school scholarships for talented students in our region. Molly and Sali will visit their schools this month and will be accompanied by their parents and representatives from the trust. Once they start in September they will have access to the huge range of subjects, extra-curricular activities and enrichment experiences which both schools offer. Both girls will return to Holly Lodge during their holidays to share their experiences with the next cohort of talented, hard- working and ambitious students who will follow in their footsteps. We are all very proud of their achievement which sows what our students are capable of when presented with the opportunities they deserve.
The commitment of the staff and Governors at Holly Lodge to this scheme and the support we offer our girls as they work towards their eventual success embodies our ethos of “Expect to Achieve”.
