University support and access schemes

We offer access to a very wide range of support schemes that will boost your chances of being accepted onto competitive course at elite universities. Here are just some of the opportunities that our students have been part of over the past few years.

Sutton Trust

Pathways to Law, Medicine, Banking and Finance, Engineering and Consulting consist of a range of work experience and online mentoring. Summer school placements are also available to spend more time gaining real experience of these sectors

Keystone

One to one online tutoring and mentoring in Humanities subjects to aid applications to Russel Group Universities.

Liverpool Scholars

The University of Liverpool is committed to supporting talented students who wish to access higher education, regardless of their background. The Liverpool Scholars programme offers Year 12 students the chance to take part in a range of activities aimed at supporting their entry into higher education. Successful completion of the scheme will lead to a guaranteed reduced offer to study at the university of Liverpool and a non-repayable financial bursary

Aspire Liverpool

A scheme to aid students applying to the universities of Oxford and Cambridge consisting of a residential visit, application and interview support

 

Social mobility foundation

The Aspiring Professionals Programme offers tailored support across 11 career sectors: Accountancy, Architecture, Banking & Finance, Biology & Chemistry, Business, Digital, Engineering & Physics, Law, Media & Communications, Medicine, and Politics.

Nuffield Research  Placements

The NRP programme provides engaging, hands-on research projects, where Year 12 students have the opportunity to make a meaningful contribution towards the work of a host organisation through a well-supervised but independent research collaboration relating to an area of science, quantitative social science, computing, technology, engineering or maths.

 Liverpool Law Society

The Liverpool Law society offers a law open day to visit Liverpool Chambers and speak to barristers and solicitors. They also provide advice and guidance on application and relevant work experience through mentors.

Links to elite private schools

We work closely with some of the most exclusive private schools in the country to provide our 6th Form students with the same careers and alumni opportunities that these institutions provide.

Trips

Trips are an important part of KS5 study and we aim to offer as many experiences as possible. So far this year we have been lucky enough to enjoy trips to the theatre to watch Othello with English, Chester Zoo with Psychology and Biology and Alton Towers just for fun.

 

 

 

Wellbeing activities

 

To improve our mental health and just to have fun we offer a range of activities for our students these include, Wellbeing Walks, Creative Calm, Festive Fridays, tea and a chat, Mindfulness, yoga gym sessions, and beat the teacher quizzes. Just to name a few
